“They Call Her Ella”- Review

Ella Morris was an average teenager, or so it seemed. In truth, she was better known as Agent 428 of the Grimly Family, a third party, covert operations group.Taken in by the G.F. at the age of six, by thirteen, she became one of the youngest operatives to be placed out in the field. But on her first high-level mission, she is plunged into the confusing reality of deciphering outward displays of loyalty, where the wrong move could mean losing everything.Everyone has their secrets. Some shape others.

Readers be advised- some spoilers may be in the following review.

– Well, hello my lovelies. After what seems like literally forever, we are back with yet another book review. This review has been written at- LEAST three times previously. But with technical difficulties and memory issues (couldn’t remember the password for my previous google account) in the past, I pray that I will be able to keep up with the blog for once! With that being said, let’s enter the world of Ella, a super spy with a challenging past, an intriguing present, and a unique future!

Favorite character:

Personally, Mr. Morris is my favorite. I have read the book atleast four times so far (Once initially, once for the second read test, then two more after that as I attempt to finally post this silly article) and every time I fall in love more and more with his character. With the way he interacts with Ella and pretty much everyone else he comes into contact with, Mr. Morris is a loveable character who is a formidable ally.

My least favorite character:

Jasmine….100%. She is the embodiment of a stuck up “pick me” child who is spoiled rotten. Its hard to believe that she went through the same style background Ella did. I literally had to force myself to remember that she was from the Grimly Family and not just a prissy teenager in highschool. Obnoxious human

Anyway..my rant is over….I think…

My absolute favorite scene:Warning, high alert for a spoiler

I dont really have a favorite scene. I do greatly enjoy the sarcasm element that Ella has, as well as the witty banter between her and Mr. Morris. However, none of the scenes really just grabbed my attention and said “hello, I exist.”

For the cons, :SPOILER

I am not the biggest fan of the ending of the book. Again- really big SPOILER here–I dont like how she just gave up the Grimly family.Sure, the big reveal was dramatic, but to give up everything she had ever known? Plus, even reading the book as many times as I did, I couldnt see why she automatically thought they were the bad guys. That part I felt was rushed and could have definitely been expounded on.

Content Concerns

Honestly, there wasnt really any concerns. If you dont like violence, then probably should avoid this book as there are a lot of fight scenes. But other than that, it was a very clean book.

All in All
For the second read test- having read this book four times ATLEAST- I will say it was better this time around. The first time I read it, I was slightly irritated by it. Currently, I cant say why? I honestly don’t remember, but I remember not looking forward to having to reread it again. It is not my favorite book, but hey- I dont have to love every book. There were some good moments, this one just wasn’t my cup of tea. It might be yours.
Anyway, that is all for now! I look forward to reading more books and posting about them in the upcoming days!If you have a book you’ve written and you’d like me to do a review on it, please reach out! I’d love to hear from you.

That’s all for now! See you next time!

Please be advised- I received a complimentary copy of this book for review purposes. I was not required to write a positive review. All thoughts and comments listed above are my own opinions.
